Pakistan's Supreme Court has directed the Islamabad Police Chief to submit a report on the incident at Sindh House, saying that the no-confidence motion is a political act and all political parties are expected to exercise restraint.
Will do On Saturday, the Supreme Court heard a petition filed by the Supreme Court Bar Association to maintain law and order in Islamabad in the current political situation in the country.
A two-member judicial bench comprising Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Muneeb Akhtar summoned Attorney General Khalid Javed Khan at 1.30 pm and heard the government's position.
The Attorney General said that what happened in Sindh House last evening was regrettable and no form of violence could be allowed. The Chief Justice said that this is not a suo motu notice, there is a petition before the court.
The Islamabad Police Chief and Home Secretary were also present in the court.
