Obesity:

                          Obesity is a complex medical condition due to excessive amount of fat. Obesity is due to eating excess food, taking extra calories than the body can use in the normal activities. Body stores extra calories as fat. Obesity can be measured by body mass index called BMI. It is a medical problem that increased risk of serious diseases like heart disease, diabetes type 2, higher blood pressure, cancer etc.

                         A measurement which we get by dividing weight by square of height.

                   BMI in athletes is not an accurate because they are muscular and their weight is muscle mass not body fat. Diseases or health conditions which relate obesity are high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol level which lead to heart attack. Type 2 diabetes is linked to obesity. 40% of different types of cancer are linked to obesity.

Ø  Exercise i.e., yoga

Ø  Sleep i.e., 7 to 9 hours sleep is enough

Ø  Decrease intake of fast food

Ø  Always take home made meal

Ø  Increase consumption of fruits, vegetables, healthy protein i.e., poultry fish, beans etc.

Exercise to reduce obesity:

Walking:

·         30 to 50 minutes walk reduce weight

Jogging /Running:

    These two can help in burning fat specially belly fat. Get starts 20 to 25 minutes running 3 to 4 times per week and get results.

Cycling:

   Cycling is very popular exercise. It is useful in fitness and weight loss. Cycling can be done in gym by stationary cycle or can be done outdoor. Regular cycling lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

Weight lifting:

   It can help you lose weight and strengthen the muscles.

Swimming:

  It can improve flexibility, reduce heart disease risk factor and help you lose weight.

Yoga:

  It is popular exercise which relieves stress. It is weight loss exercise which can be done anywhere.
