Why Rohit Sharma's poor batting in IPL, demand for ban on Vara Pau?
sports news |
Shah Rukh Khan's Calcutta Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by five wickets on Wednesday night. Australian captain Pat Cummins was instrumental in the team's victory, scoring 56 off just 15 balls. Fans of the team that has won the IPL title five times in the past seem to be heartbroken by the successive defeats and are blaming captain Rohit Sharma for these failures.
Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion last night after scoring just three runs off 12 balls against Calcutta Knight Riders. On his poor batting form, Mufzal Vehra wrote, "My favorite captain Rohit Sharma is gone. It hurts me to think so, but it is."
"It's his (Rohit Sharma's) late-night eating habits that are ruining his game," he added. "Vara Pau should be banned as long as he is the captain."
Vara Pau is one of the most popular dishes in the Indian city of Mumbai. After scoring 3 off 12 balls, a fan of former India captain MS Dhoni wrote in a tweet,
"Did Rohit Sharma play the best Test innings?"

While the Mumbai Indians captain is being criticized, his fans are also openly defending their favorite player.
A user named Asha writes, "Remember those who are criticizing Rohit Sharma have won five IPL titles and he is still the most successful captain of the IPL."
"Winning or losing doesn't matter," wrote Sir Danda. The only difference is Rohit Sharma and no one is ahead of him.
